WHAT ARE “THE LIVE COMPETITIONS?”

FilAm Creative’s Live Competitions is a call to the creatives in the world of SPOKEN WORD, SINGING, DANCE and VISUAL ARTS to submit their best work for the opportunity to showcase your art at the FilAm Creative Film Festival and a chance to win top prizes.

The vision is to bring artists from diverse genres under one roof to showcase and celebrate their creativity to inspire future collaborations.

COMPETE LIVE at the FilAm Creative Film Festival

We invite creatives from the worlds of Spoken Word, Singing, Dance, and Visual Arts to submit their best work for a chance to showcase at the FilAm Creative Film Festival and win top prizes.

Registration Deadlines:

  • October 30, 2024 @11:59PM

Finalists in each category will be notified by November 3, 2024, if they will perform during one of the nights of the festival from November 7-9. Singing and Dancing will be on November 7
Spoken word will be on November 8
Visual Art will be displayed throughout

Awards: The top 3 in each category—Spoken Word, Vocals, Dance, and Visual Art—will present their work at the FilAm Creative Film Festival. Each category will also feature a Jury Award.

Submission Rules:

  1. Video entries must be between 2-4 minutes in length.

  2. No vulgar or offensive material (attire/performance).

  3. All styles are welcome.

  4. Thematic Theme of Healing Preferred

  5. Original content only; no covers.

  6. Spoken/Vocal entries: Max 4 participants. Dance entries: Max 10 participants.

  7. Submit audition videos only; no produced videos.

  8. Visual artists must submit a photo of their work.

  9. All entries must be consistent with the mission statement of FilAm Creative; FilAm Creative, Inc. reserves the right to disqualify any film, without refund, for violating rules and procedures of the competition.

  10. FilAm Creative Board of Directors, Executive Chairs, and Leadership Staff are prohibited from participating.

By entering, artists confirm they have cleared all rights to materials in their work, including music rights and artwork releases.

Finalists' specific performance times will be determined after selection.

All entry fees are non-refundable.

We respect the privacy of each submission and uphold the confidentiality of the art provided.

Production Costs:
All costs associated with the production of the Entry are solely the responsibility of the Entrant.Project Terms of Submission

PROJECT TERMS OF SUBMISSION

By entering the live competition, each participant confirms they hold all rights to their submission, including any video or digital recordings and performances, except for any materials provided by the competition organizers. Participants also confirm they have obtained consent from everyone featured in their submission to grant the rights specified in these Official Rules and will provide copies of these permissions to the organizers. By submitting an entry, participants agree to abide by the Official Rules and consent to indemnify and protect the competition organizers, their affiliates, officers, directors, agents, co-branders, partners, and employees (collectively referred to as the "Project Indemnitees") from any claims, damages, expenses, costs (including reasonable legal fees), and liabilities (including settlements) brought by any third party related to the participant's entry materials or conduct during the competition. This includes, but is not limited to, claims related to trademark, copyright, other intellectual property rights, publicity rights, privacy rights, or defamation. Participants also agree to release and hold the competition organizers harmless from any claims that any advertising, presentation, web content, or other materials created by or on behalf of the organizers infringe upon the rights of the participant's work as presented in their entry.

General Conditions

By participating, entrants agree to these Official Rules, which are final and binding in all respects. The competition is governed by the laws of the state of California, USA, and all claims must be resolved in the courts of California or the federal courts located in California.
